Featured in the English Wedding Supplier Directory

A little more lovely news to share. Lauren Batten Events is now listed in the English Wedding supplier directory, recognised as a wedding planner and day-of coordinator.
English Wedding is one of the UK’s most beautifully curated wedding blogs. For years it has been a go-to for couples looking for genuine inspiration and trusted suppliers, with a real eye for elegant, considered weddings. To be included in its directory, alongside some of the loveliest names in the industry, is something I’m really proud of. In this post I’ll share what the feature means, and explain exactly what a day-of coordinator does, so you can decide whether it’s right for your wedding.
Why it matters where you find your suppliers
Planning a wedding means making a long list of decisions about people you’ve often never met. A curated directory like English Wedding takes a lot of that uncertainty away. Every supplier is there on merit, which means you can begin each conversation already feeling a little more confident.
If you’ve found me through English Wedding, welcome. You’re clearly someone who cares about getting the details right, and that’s exactly the kind of couple I love to work with.
A few words from one of my couples
I think the best way to understand what a coordinator actually does is to hear it from a couple who’s been there. This is one of my favourites, and it appears on my English Wedding listing:
“Lauren was amazing! I booked her with about 5 months to go before my wedding when I decided we needed a day of coordinator for our wedding reception (to save it from the best efforts of the groomsmen!!)”
I love this, because it captures something true. You can plan a beautiful wedding yourself and still want someone in your corner on the day, holding it all together so nothing lands on you (or your well-meaning groomsmen).
What a day-of coordinator actually does
Day-of coordination, my day of coordination package, is for couples who have planned their own wedding and want a professional to run the day itself. People sometimes assume it means I simply turn up on the morning and improvise, but the real work starts well before then.
In the weeks before your wedding, we’ll have a thorough handover. I take everything you’ve organised, every supplier, every timing, and every little detail you’ve been holding in your head, and turn it into a clear, minute-by-minute timeline. I confirm arrangements with your suppliers so they know exactly where to be and when, and I make sure nothing has slipped through the cracks.
Then, on the day itself, I’m the first to arrive and the last to leave. I welcome and direct your suppliers, manage the timeline, cue the key moments, and quietly solve the small problems that always crop up, usually before you even know about them. If the cake is late or the heavens open, that’s mine to handle, not yours. The result is simple: you, your partner and your families get to be guests at your own wedding.
Wedding planner, venue coordinator or day-of coordinator: what’s the difference?
This is one of the questions I’m asked most, because the roles sound similar but are really quite different:
A wedding planner supports you throughout the planning process, often for many months, helping with everything from suppliers and design to budgets and logistics.
A venue coordinator works for the venue, not for you. They look after the venue’s side of things, such as the room and the catering, but they usually won’t manage your other suppliers, run your full timeline, or be there from the very start to the very end of your day.
A day-of coordinator works for you. I take over the running of your whole day, all of your suppliers, and your timeline, so nothing falls to you or a well-meaning relative.
Many couples are surprised to learn that their venue coordinator won’t do what a day-of coordinator does, which is exactly why this service exists.
Do you need a day-of coordinator?
If you’re planning your own wedding, you might be wondering whether you really need someone like me. You don’t always, and I’ll always be honest about that. But there are a few signs it would make a real difference:
·You’re marrying somewhere with no in-house coordinator, such as a marquee, a tipi, or a dry-hire venue.
·You have lots of separate suppliers who’ll all need managing on the day.
·You’d rather not hand jobs to family or friends, who you’d prefer were enjoying the day with you.
·You simply want to relax, knowing someone has it all in hand.
If any of those ring true, day-of coordination is one of the best investments you can make in your own enjoyment of the day.
Where I work
I’m based in Berkshire and work across the county, including Reading, Wokingham and Newbury, as well as Oxfordshire and London. I’m also happy to travel for UK-wide and destination weddings. Wherever you’re marrying, my aim is the same: a calm, seamless day that feels entirely like you.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a day-of wedding coordinator?
A day-of coordinator steps in shortly before your wedding to take over the logistics. I build your timeline, brief and manage your suppliers, and run the day itself so you and your family can be fully present. You do the planning; I handle the execution.
How is a coordinator different from my venue coordinator?
A venue coordinator works for the venue and looks after their side, such as the room and catering. A day-of coordinator works for you, managing all of your suppliers and your full timeline from start to finish.
When should I book a day-of coordinator?
Most couples book a few months ahead, though I’d always recommend securing your date as early as you can. As the couple above found, even booking around five months out makes an enormous difference to how the day feels.
Can you coordinate a marquee or tipi wedding?
Yes, and I love them. Dry-hire and DIY weddings have more moving parts than a traditional venue, which is exactly where a coordinator earns their keep.
How far in advance of the day do you take over?
I take on the supplier liaison and timeline in the weeks leading up to your wedding, so everything is confirmed and calm well before the day itself.
Do you only work in Berkshire?
I’m based in Berkshire and work across the county, plus Oxfordshire and London, with UK-wide and destination weddings on request.
Where else have you been featured?
I’m also a featured supplier on Love My Dress, and I’ve appeared in Your Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wedding magazine with both a styled shoot and a real wedding.
