These Terms and Conditions govern the agreement between Lauren Batten Events ("the Coordinator") and the client(s) named on the booking confirmation ("the Client"). These terms apply to all services provided by Lauren Batten Events and form a legally binding contract upon receipt of a deposit payment.
Section 01
Booking & Deposits
A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of a non-refundable deposit and a signed copy of these Terms and Conditions. Until both have been received, Lauren Batten Events reserves the right to accept bookings from other clients for the same date.
What your deposit covers
- Reservation of your wedding date exclusively for your event
- Initial planning consultation and needs assessment
- Access to Lauren's supplier contacts and recommendations
- All pre-wedding correspondence and coordination calls included in your package
The deposit is non-refundable under any circumstances, as it compensates Lauren Batten Events for the time committed to your event from the point of booking and for turning away other enquiries for your date.
Section 02
Payment Terms
The remaining balance of your package fee is due no later than 6 weeks before your wedding date. Failure to pay the balance in full by this date may result in the cancellation of your booking and forfeiture of your deposit.
Payment schedule
- 25% deposit — due at time of booking to confirm your date
- Remaining 75% balance — due no later than 6 weeks before the wedding date
- Any agreed additional services — invoiced separately and due within 14 days of invoice
All payments are to be made via bank transfer to the details provided on your invoice. Lauren Batten Events does not accept cash payments. Receipts will be issued for all payments received.
For bookings made within 6 weeks of the wedding date, the full package fee is payable at the time of booking.
Section 03
Cancellation & Refunds
In the event that the Client wishes to cancel their booking, cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to [email protected]. The following cancellation policy applies:
Client cancellation policy
- Cancellation more than 90 days before the wedding date — deposit forfeited, no further charge
- Cancellation between 28 and 90 days before the wedding date — 50% of the total package fee is due
- Cancellation within 28 days of the wedding date — 100% of the total package fee is due
In the unlikely event that Lauren Batten Events is unable to fulfil the booking due to unforeseen circumstances (such as serious illness or a family emergency), a full refund of all monies paid will be issued, and reasonable efforts will be made to recommend a suitable alternative coordinator.
Postponements
If the Client wishes to postpone their wedding date, Lauren Batten Events will make every effort to accommodate the new date. Any postponement is subject to availability. If the new date cannot be accommodated, the cancellation policy above will apply.
Section 04
Liability & Limitations
Lauren Batten Events acts as a coordinator and point of contact between the Client and third-party suppliers. Lauren Batten Events is not responsible for the actions, failures, or conduct of any third-party suppliers, venues, or vendors, including but not limited to caterers, photographers, florists, and entertainment.
Limitations of liability
- Lauren Batten Events shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or disappointment arising from the failure of a third-party supplier to deliver their services
- Lauren Batten Events shall not be liable for any circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including adverse weather, venue issues, or acts of God
- In the event that Lauren Batten Events is found liable for any claim, liability is limited to the total fee paid by the Client for the relevant package
- Lauren Batten Events holds public liability insurance. Details are available upon request
The Client is responsible for ensuring that all third-party suppliers have been properly contracted and hold their own appropriate insurance. Lauren Batten Events can provide guidance on this but cannot be held responsible for the insurance arrangements of other parties.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
